Duties and Responsibilities of Publishers
  • IEM is promising to ensure that the final editorial decisions on manuscript submissions are published.
  • IEM is committing to ensure that the decision made on submitted manuscript is only created on professional ruling and will not be affected by any commercial interests.
  • IEM is committing to keep the integrity of academic and research records.
  • IEM is monitoring the ethics by Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Editorial Board Members, Reviewers, Authors, and Readers.
  • IEM is always checking the plagiarism and deceitful issues related to submitted manuscript.
  • IEM is always ready to publish corrections, clarifications and retractions involving its publications as and when needed.
Publication and Authorship of the Paper
  • IEM uses an online submission and peer-review, double blind system.
  • IEM publication process works under the international standards of ethical behaviors in all aspects of publication including editors, authors, peer reviewers and publisher.
  • All submissions are subject to peer review by at least two international reviewers that are experts in the subject of submitted paper. Reviewers are selected by Associate Editors and/or Editor in Chief.
  • IEM ethical statements are on the base of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guideline.
  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
  • The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included in the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
General Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
  • Authors must confirm that their manuscript is their original work that has not previously been published, or even submitted elsewhere.
  • Authors must provide the contact details (including e-mail addresses) of at least two independent peer reviewers (experts in their field of study) for one manuscript.
  • Authors must clearly identify any chemicals, procedures or equipment that has any unusual hazards inherent in their use. Moreover, any human or animal subjects should have the ethical approve before use.
  • Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published elsewhere, or even submitted and been in reviewed in another journal.
  • Authors must participate in the peer review process and follow the comments.
  • The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
  • All Authors must have significantly contributed to the research and the level of their contribution must be mentioned in the “Authors’ Contributions” section of the article.
  • Authors must identify all sources of financial support for the project and creation of their manuscript.
  • All authors should disclose in their manuscript any conflict of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
  • Authors cannot withdraw their articles within the review process or after submission.
  • Authors must promptly notify the journal editor or publisher when they discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work.
  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
 General Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
  • Editors are responsible for everything published in their journals.
  • Editors should some have processes in place to assure the quality of the material they publish
  • Editors should always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed
  • Editors should strive to meet the needs of readers and authors.
  • Editors (Associate Editors or Editor in Chief) have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article. Editors’ decisions to accept or reject a paper for publication should be based on the paper’s importance, originality and clarity, and the study’s validity and its relevance to the remit of the journal.
  • Editors should have a clear statement of a research's funding sources from authors.
  • Editors should ensure that all research material they publish conforms to international accepted ethical guidelines.
  • Editors should not allow any conflicts of interest among staff, authors, reviewers and board members.
  • Editors must not change their decision after submitting a decision (especially after reject or accept) unless they have a serious reason.
  • Editors should provide guidance to reviewers on everything that is expected of them, including the need to handle submitted material in confidence
  • Editors should publish errata pages or make corrections when needed.
  • Editors must not disclose any unpublished information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher.
 General duties and responsibilities of Reviewers
  • Members of the Editorial Board of the journal can be nominated as reviewers.
  • Reviewers evaluate manuscripts critically but constructively to prepare detailed comments about the research and the manuscript to help authors improve their work.
  • Their evaluation includes assessments of the originality and importance of the research; the design of the study; the methods of study, including analytical and statistical methods; the presentation of the results; the strength of the conclusions; and the overall quality of the manuscript.
  • Reviewers must keep all information of submitted papers confidential and treat them as privileged information.
  • Reviewers have a responsibility to report suspected duplicate publication or plagiarism to the Editor. Reviewers should not show the manuscript to anyone else without the expressed consent of the editor. Reviewers should not communicate directly with authors or even identify themselves to authors.
  • Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they feel unqualified or have conflict of interest.
  • Reviewers should keep all information regarding papers confidential and treat them as privileged information.
  • Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Publication Ethics
  • All IEM editorial board members, reviewers and authors must adhere to and obey guidelines defined by COPE.
  • Corresponding author is the main responsible and owner of the article so she/he can withdraw the article before entering the review process or when a revision is asked for.
  • Authors cannot make major changes in the article after acceptance without a serious reason.
  • All editorial members and authors must resolve to publish any kind of corrections honestly and completely.
  • Any notes of plagiarism, data fabrication and falsification, simultaneous submission, duplicate publication, improper author contribution or attribution, citation manipulation fraudulent data or any other kinds of fraud must be reported completely to COPE.
  • In case of documented violations of any of the above mentioned policies in any journal, immediate rejection of the manuscript and prohibition against all of the authors for any new submissions for a minimum of 36 months will be applied.
 Handling Cases of Misconduct
Once IEM confirms a violation against publication ethics, addresses ethical concerns carefully following an issue-specific standard practice as elucidated by COPE.
